1. These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as "Terms") establish the conditions for using the local-first note-taking application "LocusWeave" (hereinafter referred to as "Service") provided by the LocusWeave Project (hereinafter referred to as "Project").

2. Users (hereinafter referred to as "Users") shall use the Service upon agreeing to these Terms.

3. By using the Service, Users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

In these Terms, the following terms shall have the meanings set forth below:

1. "Application" refers to the web browser-based note-taking application "LocusWeave" provided by the Project.

2. "Local Data" refers to all content data in Markdown file format, including notes, memos, and other content created, edited, and saved by Users using the Service.

3. "Usage Statistics Data" refers to data regarding service usage in a non-personally identifiable format collected by Google Analytics 4 (Tracking ID: G-L3X5PRD19L).

4. "File System Access API" refers to the Web standard API that allows browsers to directly access the local file system.

1. Supported Environment

• The Service is only available on desktop Google Chrome
• Mobile devices are not supported
• A browser that supports the File System Access API is required

2. Access Method

• The Service requires no installation and can be accessed directly from a web browser

3. Service Updates

• The Project may update the Service without prior notice to Users for feature improvements and bug fixes

4. Free Provision

• The Service is provided completely free of charge with no fees incurred for usage

1. Storage of Local Data

• All note data created by Users is saved as Markdown files (.md format) within the User's local PC
• No note data is sent to the Project's servers
• Files are saved in the directory specified by the User through the File System Access API

2. Data Ownership and Access Rights

• All ownership of local data belongs to the Users
• The Project has no technical means to view, collect, or use the content of User notes
• Users can freely use, modify, delete, and migrate their created data

3. Data Format and Portability

• Data is saved in standard Markdown format, making it usable with other applications
• There is no vendor lock-in

4. Data Backup

• Data backup is the responsibility of the User
• The Project assumes no responsibility for data loss, corruption, etc.

5. File System Access Permission

• The Service only accesses directories explicitly permitted by the User
• Access permissions are managed through the browser's File System Access API

1. Use of Google Analytics

The Project uses Google Analytics 4 to collect the following information for service quality improvement:

• Page views, sessions, user count
• Browser used, operating system, screen resolution
• Access region (prefecture level based on IP address)
• Behavior within the site (page transitions, time spent)
• New/returning visitor distinction

2. Privacy Protection

• The collected information does not include any content of notes created by Users
• File names and directory structures are not collected
• No personally identifiable information is collected

3. Purpose of Data Use

Collected data is used only for the following purposes:

• Understanding service usage status
• Reference information for feature improvements
• Discovery and resolution of technical issues

1. Intellectual Property Rights of the Service

• Intellectual property rights regarding the Service's software, design, logo, and other components belong to the Project or legitimate rights holders
• The Service may be released as an open-source project

2. Copyright of User Content

• All copyrights of local data created by Users belong to the Users
• The Project claims no rights to user content

3. Third-Party Intellectual Property Rights

• Intellectual property rights of open-source libraries used in the Service belong to their respective rights holders

1. Service Warranty

• The Project makes no warranties regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or usefulness of the Service
• The Service is provided "as is"

2. Disclaimer of Damages

The Project assumes no responsibility for the following matters:

• Loss, corruption, or modification of User's local data
• Data loss due to browser or OS malfunctions
• Malfunctions due to specification changes in the File System Access API
• Direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service
• Data loss due to User error

3. Browser-Dependent Features

• The File System Access API is an experimental browser feature and specifications may change in the future
• Features may be restricted due to changes in browser security policies

1. Service Changes

• The Project may change all or part of the Service with prior notice
• For important feature changes, 30 days' notice will be given when possible

2. Service Termination

• The Project may terminate the Service with 90 days' notice
• User's local data will not be affected after service termination and will remain usable

3. Emergency Maintenance

• The Service may be temporarily suspended without prior notice for security reasons

1. The Project may change these Terms as necessary.

2. Changes to the Terms will be notified by posting on the Service and will take effect 7 days after posting.

3. For important changes (changes that significantly affect User rights and obligations), 30 days' notice will be given.

4. If Users cannot agree to the changed Terms, they may discontinue use of the Service.

1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Japanese law.

2. Disputes regarding these Terms shall first be resolved through good faith consultation between the parties.

3. If resolution cannot be achieved through consultation, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.

1. If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid.

2. The Project's failure to exercise rights under these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such rights.
